Modeling of Materials

Accurate material models are needed to perform realistic virtual tests on any structure. In our simulations the following material behavior can be taken into account under large deformations:

  • (Visco)-elasticity/plasticity
  • Hypo/hyper-elasticity
  • Rate/thermal dependency
  • Damage and failure mechanisms

Modeling material behavior with any of these models requires parameters which can be determined by material testing and/or numerical analysis. For more information see our Mechanical Testing service and Homogenization service.
